줄 하나 없이 칠 수 있는 '터치스크린 기타'

줄 없이도 칠 수 있는 기타가 탄생했다. 호주 시드니에 위치한 '미사 디지탈(Misa Digital)'이라는 회사의 제품인데, 기존 기타를 칠 때의 불편함을 해소하기 위해 아이디어를 낸 결과이다. 기타를 치다보면 철로 된 기타줄 때문에 손끝이 아프거나, 코드를 잡을 때 손이 짧은 사람은 어려움을 겪기 일쑤다. 기타는 줄이 있어야 한다는 사고방식에서 탈피해 새로운 혁명을 이끈 것이다.

미사 디지탈은 혁신적인 터치 스크린 기술에 디자인까지 최소화했다. 터치 스크린 부분은 기존의 기타 소리와 함께 신디사이저 기능도 가지고 있어 다양한 효과음을 낼 수 있다.

아이폰의 터치 스크린 기능을 이용한 어플리케이션도 속속 탄생하고 있는 요즘이다. 핸드폰으로 전화만하는 시대는 지난지 오래다. 이제는 스크린 위에 손만 올려 놓으면 드럼, 피아노, 기타 등 악기 연주가 어렵지 않은 시대인 것이다.

놀라운 터치 스크린 기술의 발전을 또 어디에 응용해볼 수 있을까? 키보드나 마우스, 모니터 모두를 터치 스크린으로 만들면 어떨까? 터치 스크린 두 개로 노트북이 탄생할 수도 있을 것이다.
